Lampwork Beads by Ciel Creations

Making a lampwork bead

I make my lampwork beads using traditional glass working techniques by melting rods of glass over a hot torch and carefully wrapping the glass around a metal rod called a mandrel. Usually different layers of glass are added, sometimes along with fine (very pure) silver or special silvered glass to give fantastic shapes, colours and patterns.

Finished beads are placed in a kiln to anneal them for strength and durability. They can be made into individual pieces of jewellery by yourself, or get in touch if you would like us to make something special for you or as a gift.

I also make and sell finished jewellery, with each piece being unique and hand made using my own lampwork beads.
